Weekend...

Had a good weekend. Caught the Euro finals and the Pacquiao v. Diaz fight.

Euro finals was a pretty good game. It ended up the way i expected, but I thought Germany would have came harder than that though. Spain pretty much dominated the whole game in my opinon. Some of the ref's calls or lack there of, could have altered the outcome, but thats the way it goes sometimes. The Pacquiao fight was bananas. He totally shredded Diaz all 9 rounds. I will never root for Pacquiao but i could not overlook his natural talent and skill. That dude is a machine. He seems to be a complete boxer from his first fights. He is a true champ. I think he gained alot more respect from fight fans after this fight. At least from me he did. Boxing is a dying sport and Pacquiao is what's holding it together right now. The post fight interview with Diaz was hilarious. I have to give it to Diaz, he was honest about the fight in a real way. shitty vid, but its worth a watch.

1990

So i went through some of my old mags last night and stumbled across this gem. Va beach gettin some shine in the early 90's. That was the old Trashmore skate park. When it was just 1 vert ramp, 1 mini half, and the snake bowls. Shit was real. I think i tried to drop in on that monster once. Never again. I think the only other "park" was Redwing. That was just one huge ass vert ramp. Nothing else. I remember just having sessions at K-mart or Farm Fresh like 20 deep, with just a waxed ass curb & part of the sidewalk you could just manual. Again, shit was real. When skating wasn't cool, when everyone tried to imitate Hensley with that tongue poking out the cheek thing, when Flipside was the coolest shop in town, when Windsor Woods cats got the sporks branded on them, when Pulaski and EMB were like the mecca for us. Good times.

Anyone remember these? Your my friend if you do. Before half-cabs , when people used to cut them down and duct tape them mamma jammas. Or stuff their shoes with socks or extra tongues. Everyone wanted some Prototypes. I liked the multi-colored ones. Or the Airwalks with the lace protector!!!! TIGHT. Going thru those mags got me reminiscing. That was fun. Today is Go Skateboarding Day. Go skate, or at least look like you do. Peace.

Hump-T-Hump

Hump-T-Hump

I worked at this warehouse around 2 or 3 years ago, and it was right in front of the Ford plant. Between my warehouse and the Ford plant, there were railroad tracks. On those tracks were cars that had some pretty dope stuff on there. Saw some Lyes, Phone, Bzee...Alot of stuff. Not always good, but some were dope. It seemed like i always saw dope stuff when i didn't have my camera. Anyways, these aren't the best pictures but one is by a friend of mine and hump-t-hump speaks for itself....

Bless the internet

Sway and Tech's wake up show was once on the airwaves here in virginia beach. It was awesome. I think Revolution is one of the dopest dj's out there. Anyways, they are holding a competition for emcees on the internet. You can simply download 3 beats from some of the dopest producers out there via their site, and submit them and possibly be featured on there show and win $5,000. What would we do without the internet?
